RenewableNI is the voice of the renewable electricity industry.

RenewableNI members are building our future energy system, powered by clean electricity.

We bring them together to deliver that future faster; a future which is better for industry, billpayers, and the environment.  We support member companies as we work together to achieve zero carbon electricity by 2035.  Our members are business leaders, technology innovators, and expert thinkers from right across industry.

As a collaboration between Wind Energy Ireland (WEI) and RenewableUK (RUK), RenewableNI (RNI) also work closely with both trade bodies on issues impacting the renewable electricity industry across the UK and Ireland.

The RenewableNI Ambition

ZERO BY 2030

The International Energy Agency (IEA) states that all advanced economies must achieve zero carbon electricity by 2035. This is now reflected in UK Government policy.
Northern Ireland has one of the greatest wind resources in the world and is well positioned to meet this target.

80 BY 30

We currently have a 1.8GW renewable capacity. The NI Climate Change Act set a target of 80% renewables by 2030. This will require more than doubling the renewable electricity generation to meet the growth in demand as we electrify heat and transport.
