Simply Blue Group, headquartered in Cork, Ireland, is a leading blue economy developer focused on replacing fossil fuels with clean ocean energy. They develop pioneering blue economy projects pre-dominantly floating offshore wind, however they are also involved in e-Fuels, wave energy, low-impact aquaculture, CDR, and seaweed farming.

Simply Blue Group have a global pipeline of over 10 GW of floating offshore wind across 11 countries. With an ever-growing team of over 100 employees, Simply Blue Group is continuously expanding their project portfolio and working with local partners and is committed to creating new economic opportunities for coastal communities, and developing projects that co-exist with all maritime stakeholders.

ENERCON are celebrating 25 years in the Irish market this year. ENERCON carried out its first install in Ireland in 1998 when it installed 10 x E40 500kW wind turbines in Donegal. ENERCON is one of the leading wind turbine supplier on the island of Ireland with a total installed capacity of 1.44GW, (420MW in Northern Ireland).

ENERCON offers the most comprehensive maintenance package in the market with our service teams maintaining the turbines under the industry renowned ENERCON Partner Konzept (EPK). ENERCON has 15 Service Stations across the island of Ireland, with 2 located in Northern Ireland, making ENERCON best placed to serve wind farms in any locations.

ENERCON’s superior direct drive technology, robust design and market leading grid compliance capabilities – thanks to its fully rated invertor technology – make the ENERCON WEC the ideal wind turbine for the unique operating conditions present in Northern Ireland.

Ionic Technologies

Ionic Technologies is a rapidly growing Belfast-based company, which has developed innovative technology to recycle permanent magnets, and produce 100% recycled, high-purity, separated rare earth oxides. Rare earths are essential for the manufacture of high specification permanent magnets, widely used in onshore and offshore wind turbines. The capability to selectively separate rare earths is a step change and enables a secondary market for these critical minerals.

Ionic Technologies has recently secured Innovate UK funding for two exciting projects which strengthen the UK’s critical materials’ supply chains, including a holistic circular supply chain for permanent magnets in partnership with Ford and Less Common Metals, and progression towards further commercialisation at Belfast Harbour, in partnership with British Geological Survey.
