The SSE Renewables Scholarship Fund is now open for applications.
A community benefit scheme funded by renewable electricity, Scholarship programmes were created to help local students with their student fees and expenses whist creating a pool of well-trained and experienced professionals, transforming career prospects in regional communities and positively impacting future generations.
The Scholarships focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects in a bid to help fulfil employment demands in these fields.
The SSE Renewables Scholarship Fund provides 50% funding support towards the cost of third-level fees up to a maximum of 3 years and is available to students living in Co. Derry/Londonderry, Co. Tyrone, Co. Fermanagh and Co. Donegal.
The SSE Renewables Scholarship is a third level scholarship programme funded by the SSE Renewables Regional Fund for Slieve Kirk Wind Park, Tievenameenta Wind Farm, owned and operated by SSE Renewables, as well as the Greencoat Renewables owned Slieve Divena II Wind Farm. SSE Renewables is responsible for operating the Regional Fund and Scholarship for all three wind farms.
Applications for this year’s Scholarship will close on Wednesday 23 November 2022.

Scholarship Fund Eligibility
To be considered for The SSE Renewables Scholarship (funded by the Slieve Kirk Wind Park, Tievenameenta and Slieve Divena II Wind Farm Regional Fund) applicants must:
- Hold a registered place on the first year of one of the programmes of study as listed in Appendix A of the form for entry into
the academic year 2022/23 at Ulster University, North West Regional College. or South West College. - Have a home address in Co.Tyrone, Co. Derry-Londonderry, Co. Fermanagh or Co. Donegal.
- Full Time and Part Time courses are eligible.
