Sara Tinsley

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Sara is Deputy Chair of RenewableNI and heads the planning team with Energia Renewables. A Chartered Town Planner, she is responsible for delivery of planning and environmental matters associated with development, operational and construction sites across Ireland. Projects include the development of wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen production, and other renewable technologies and enabling infrastructure. She has successfully secured consent for a number of large scale strategic infrastructure developments and is involved in the shaping of policy and regulatory inputs to energy policy across the Island.
Sara has worked within the development industry for many years, previously involved in private consultancy, and has extensive experience of the development industry, advancing schemes for a range of major clients including energy companies.
Sara sits on the Planning Committee for Wind Energy Ireland and is a Committee member of the Planning and Environmental Law Association for Northern Ireland. She also sits on University of Ulster’s UPLAN Advisory Group.

Sara is part of the Women In Renewables Mentoring programme.

Tamasin Fraser

Founding Manager Omnipower Renewables

Tamasin is founder Managing Director of Omnipower Renewables, a renewable energy development and advisory company active across the UK and Ireland, specialising in identifying, acquiring and developing renewable energy sites. The company also works directly with energy users to increase their sustainability and reduce their costs.

Before founding Omnipower Renewables, Tamasin was UK Director for a leading international renewables developer, where she was responsible for establishing and delivering a 3 GW pipeline of onshore wind, solar, energy storage and hydrogen projects across the UK. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, she is a Chartered Planner with almost 20 years’ industry experience.

Director Planning, Turley and RenewableNI Planning Chair

Emma Kelly

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Emma has been a qualified planner for over 20 years.
In 2015, Emma joined Turley planning consultancy’s Belfast Office as an associate director in the planning team and has recently been promote to a Director in the planning team. She is also a core member of the Turley Net Zero Infrastructure Task Force which operates across the UK and Ireland.
Since qualifying, Emma has also held position as Vice Chair of the RTPI North East Branch and Chair of the RTPI Northern Ireland Branch.
She has been responsible for the preparation of a series of planning applications for renewable energy, including wind farms; solar panels and green hydrogen across NI.
Senior Associate, Carson McDowell

Le-ann Campbell

Le-ann is a Senior Associate in the Corporate team at Carson McDowell and has been specialising in Energy & Renewables since joining Carson McDowell nearly ten years ago.
Le-ann graduated with a First-Class Honours in Civil Law (BCL) from University College Dublin and went on to study a Masters degree in Human Rights Law (LLM) from Queen’s University, Belfast. She obtained her professional qualification from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast in June 2014 after completing her legal training with a top tier law firm. Le-ann has a wide range of experience in the Energy sector and has advised on many regionally significant transactions. She is a long-standing member of RenewableNI’s Distributed Generation and Grid Committees.

Le-ann is part of the Women In Renewables Mentoring programme.

Renewables Development Manager, NIE Networks

Lisa O'Neill

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Lisa graduated in 2010 with a First-Class Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen's. She has 14 years’ experience within the electricity industry, with 12 years of that being in roles mainly focusing on facilitating renewable generation onto the network while maintaining a safe and reliable electricity network.
Lisa is a senior leader within NIE Networks Connection Business. She is responsible for both small-scale and large-scale generation projects from the initial application stage right through to construction. Lisa is also responsible for NIE Network’s Connection Development department.
Country Director, Simply Blue Group

Sam McCloskey BSc, MSc, CEnv, FEI

Sam joined Simply Blue Group on a full-time basis in January 2023 to head up the Northern Ireland office and has responsibility for a project portfolio including Nomadic and Olympic floating offshore wind farms.

She has a 25+ year career in environmental and sustainability including 18 years in senior consultancy roles for WYG and Tetra Tech and 10 years as Director of the Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy. .She has been intrinsically involved in project management in the offshore renewable energy sector for over the past decade, leading projects in tidal energy research and on secondment to Simply Blue Group in an advisory capacity through her role as Director of Sustainability & Climate Resilience for Tetra Tech.

Sam has led a number of multi-million pound sustainability projects for a range of private and public sector clients and within academia and she has insight on ESG issues from the boardroom to the construction site. She is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and is a Chair of the Northern Ireland branch committee.

Senior Community Investment Manager for Ireland, SSE

Vicky Boden

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

With over 20 years of experience at SSE, Vicky is currently the Senior Community Investment Manager, overseeing community benefit funds across the island of Ireland. In this role she leads initiatives that support local communities ensuring that SSE’s Community Fund programme aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Previously Vicky was the External Affairs Manager for SSE’s onshore renewables business where she fostered relationships with key stakeholders and communities in promoting the company’s renewable energy projects. She is passionate about driving positive change in the communities SSE have renewable energy projects and to help communities create lasting impact through the use of the Community Benefit Funds.
Projects Director, Everun

Eimear O’Reilly

With over 13 years in the renewables and environment industry and a background of delivering onshore wind energy projects, Eimear is Projects Director at Everun, and leads a team of project and asset managers, managing over 100 wind turbine generators across multiple portfolios as well as managing Everun's project work. Her team delivers new build and repowering wind turbine generator projects, as well as consultancy services include wind farm pre-development and stakeholder support, bespoke technical solutions, and compliance services, and screening and feasibility for new RE developments. Eimear also sits on Renewable NI Distributed Generation committee.
Senior Associate, A&L Goodbody

Ruth Forbes

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Ruth is a Senior Associate in the Energy team at A&L Goodbody in Belfast.

Ruth acts for clean energy developers specialising in site assembly and land strategy for energy and infrastructure projects, including on shore wind, solar, anaerobic digestion and energy storage. Her expertise includes negotiating complex contracts, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

In addition to her legal work, Ruth is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the renewable energy sector and is an advocate for advancing women in renewables. Ruth is also a member of the RenewableNI Small Scale Working Group.

Stakeholder Manager, North Channel Wind

Fiona Stevens

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Fiona is a skilled renewable energy professional with over two decades of experience, specialising in development-phase project management, consenting, EIA co-ordination and stakeholder engagement.

As the Stakeholder Manager at North Channel Wind, Fiona leads engagement activities for offshore wind projects, seeking to promote participation and build support across a diverse range of stakeholders for Northern Ireland's first offshore wind farms. She additionally holds responsibility for onshore planning consents.

Fiona has a strong track record in project delivery, having project managed over half a gigawatt of renewable energy projects. As Senior Development Project Manager (Lead) for RES, she led the delivery of multiple onshore wind farm and battery storage projects in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Ireland. As Lead, she held functional oversight for development management, with responsibility for supporting best practice, collaboration, training and development for a team of Development Project Managers across the UK and Ireland.

Fiona is passionate about collaboration and projects which deliver for the climate, nature and people. She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management, is an APM qualified Project Manager and a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment. She is a Director and Board Member of Northern Ireland Maritime & Offshore.

Judith has worked at RenewableNI for the past four years. She is responsible for all communications, including news releases, social media, website content, and digital marketing. Judith also leads on event management, having created Women in Renewables and the award-nominated energy seminars.

A Chartered PR Practitioner and member of the CIPR, Judith has over 15 years of industry experience. She holds a degree in journalism and began her career in radio newsrooms and freelancing for national magazines.

Judith transitioned into communications and public relations at Queen’s University Belfast, where she worked on royal visits, international events, and reporting on groundbreaking research.  A career highlight was securing national media coverage by arranging for Belfast Zoo animals to attend Sir David Attenborough’s honorary degree ceremony, where she had the opportunity to speak with him.

She also holds qualifications in Digital Marketing and SEO, and is recognised as a crisis communications expert, having participated in major incident training exercises in both Northern Ireland and Scotland alongside first responders, including the police.

Judith created, and completed the pilot of, Women in Renewables Level 2 Mentoring programme, funded by the Department for the Economy.

Claire Whiteside

Claire graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2020 with a Master’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. During University she was awarded a scholarship from NIE Networks, providing 3 summer placements and a year in industry. This covered Network Access and Response, Pre-Construction Connection, Future Networks and Plant Maintenance Delivery. Getting this experience have gave her an excellent foundation and the insight this sector plays in making Northern Ireland a better place, which emphasises the great sense of purpose she has in her work.

After graduation, Claire worked in the Engineering Design department for 3 years. This role involved designing transmission substations and protection schemes. Now working in NIE Networks’ Generation team, Claire uses her technical knowledge to assist customers on their connection applications and provide tailored advice on their projects. Doing what she really loves !

Claire is part of the Women in Renewables mentoring programme.

Development Project Manager, SSE Renewables

Nicola Murphy

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Nicola Murphy is an experienced energy professional, having worked in the sector for nearly 20 years. She has contributed to microgeneration (small-scale), community, and large-scale development projects across Northern Ireland and Ireland. Currently, Nicola is focused on large-scale wind development projects, helping to meet climate change targets while generating clean, affordable energy for all.

Beyond her professional work, Nicola is an active committee member of the Energy Institute, organising energy-related events throughout the year, including seminars and technical visits. She has also served on the boards of Holywood Shared Town and NI Fencing. A committed member of Renewables NI, Nicola recently enhanced her qualifications by completing an OCN Level 2 (formerly equivalent to a GCSE) in mentoring, alongside other energy professionals. This certification will enable her to mentor women in the sector, supporting their growth and career progression.

Executive Director, NI Maritime & Offshore

Dr Kerry Muldoon

Dr. Kerry Muldoon is the Executive Director for the emerging NI Maritime & Offshore (NIMO) cluster. NIMO brings private companies, academia and government together in order to grow the maritime and offshore sectors in Northern Ireland to drive local economic expansion and unlock opportunities for growth in these sectors in the years ahead. Kerry's academic background is in freshwater ecology, but she now focuses on energy and has over 16 years’ experience across the energy sector, working in environmental consultancy, project development for large scale renewables, and in a variety of roles for the transmission System Operator for Northern Ireland (SONI).
Corporate Affairs Policy Manager, SSE Ireland

Steph Dunlop

Part of Women in Renewables Mentoring pilot

Steph works in a policy and public affairs role, advising on policy developments and shaping external engagement across the Irish energy sector. She delivers strategic policy insight covering renewables and cross-cutting issues across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Before joining SSE, she worked with Energia Group as a Renewable Energy Policy Analyst, building expertise in renewable integration, energy storage, and cross-border market alignment.
Earlier in her career, Stephanie served as an Economic Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, leading on economic reporting and policy engagement in Hong Kong and Macau, and supporting high-level U.S. delegations. Her career began working for Congressman Ben Chandler and includes work experience in Latin America and community-based work across multiple continents.

Stephanie holds an MA in Diplomacy and International Economics from the Patterson School of Diplomacy at the University of Kentucky, with earlier academic experience in political science and linguistics. She has recently earned a microcredential in Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Limerick.
